Cheryl Senkfor never had the courage to exhibit her work publicly until recently when she established Woven Angel, selling unique knits, jewelry and other handmades. She has taught art classes to children and adults throughout the years and was the art director for a summer camp program which she created, designed and implemented in 2002. Her home can be considered an art gallery of all her works from mosaics to painted furniture, knitwear, jewelry and ceramics.

Business Challenge
Soon after Cheryl started Woven Angel she decided her first big marketing project was to develop a Web site and contracted CB Software to do the work. Phase one of the project was to deliver a professional Web site to prove credibility and then stage two was to develop a search engine optimization plan to drive traffic to the site. The challenge was in how to organize a plan to draw lots of activity for a brand new business on a very limited budget without developed or established keywords and key phrases as a starting point.
Solution
We first worked with Cheryl to research and develop a list of highly relevant keywords and key phrases that pertained directly to her target market and products. Key phrases such as “knit hats,” “chenille scarves,” “knitwear” and beaded jewelry” were chosen from a list of literally thousands. We then worked with Cheryl to narrow down that list and ended up selecting around 75 highly targeted and carefully selected words and phrases.

The best approach for Cheryl was a paid inclusion program with Google and so we set out to create a plan that achieved high placement while still staying within her limited budget. Visits to Cheryl’s Web site increased over 600% in the first 30 days and have steadily increased every month since inception. We monitor the account monthly and make changes as necessary to make sure that Woven Angel remains in the top positions at all times.
