Why do I always have viruses on my computer?

As mentioned in the past, it is crucial to have good anti-virus protection on all computers that your organization operates.  Many more people are following this rule since the outbreak of major worms and viruses that have appeared in recent months.  There have been many reports, however, from users that viruses continue to appear on their computers.

Answer

There are two things you should check in this instance.  First, you should check the active jobs for any error messages.  To do this you need to type AJ (Active Jobs) from a command line and see if there are any messages on jobs currently running.  If a job has an error message that has not been responded to, it will hold up other jobs waiting, including print jobs.  Always check with CBSS when you have an error message to make sure you respond to it properly.  Never just cancel an error message on your own unless the message says you have entered an invalid parameter.  This often occurs when you are running a report and you have entered invalid data on your selections.   In this scenario, you can cancel the error yourself and re-run your report.

If you have checked the active jobs and there are no messages, you can type WW (WorkWriters) from a command line on the 400.  This will allow you to check and work with your 400 printers.  From this screen you will be able to start/stop printers as well as display the output for any printer.  If you are waiting for print jobs assigned to a specific printer that is currently stopped, you can start it here with the appropriate command as displayed on the screen.
